  1. Maharashtra Co-operative Housing Society Bye Laws II. INTERPRETATIONS / Definitions 3. Interpretations of the words and terms: Unless otherwise separately provided in these bye-laws, the following and terms shall have the meaning assigned to them herein: (i) 'Act' means the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act; (MCS Act) 1960.
  2. All these housing society rules and regulations and the housing society bye laws must adhere to the Co-operative act or other laws in force in that region. A Society may frame its own bye-laws but these by laws of society must not contradict the Societies Registration Act of the concerned state.
  3. The contribution to be collected from the Members of the Society, towards outgoing and establishment of its funds, referred to in these bye-laws as 'the charges' may be in relation to the following: (i) Property Taxes, (ii) Water Charges, (iii) Common Electricity Charges, (iv) Contribution to Repairs and Maintenance Fund, (v) Expenses on repairs and maintenance of the lifts of the Society.
